Yachting & Boat Charter
With our history steeped in sailing ships (and shipwrecks) it is only natural that so many Aussies own a yacht, motor cruiser, catamaran or simply a ‘tinnie’ and love taking to the waves.

Sydney Harbour is second to none with so many lovely little bays and inlets filled with pleasure craft of all descriptions. North of Sydney, the vast Hawkesbury River system also invites ‘boaties’ to come exploring every weekend. The famous ‘Sydney to Hobart’ yacht race is held annually on Boxing Day and is a huge event of interest. All Australian states share a part of our limitless coastline, so there are many events held involving boats. |

Perhaps one of the most curious would be ‘The Henley on Todd’ race held in the Todd River in Alice Springs (in the dead centre of Australia). As this river doesn’t often actually have water in it, the ‘boats’ are constructed in such a manner as to allow the ‘sailors’ to pick up, carry and run with the boats down the dry river bed. Fastest runners, win the race – simple! Aussies never let a little thing like no water hold them back! |
