Perched on the Western Ridge at the gateway to South Australia’s renowned Barossa Valley, Pindarie Wines is a vibrant, family-owned working farm and winery where breathtaking views meet authentic vineyard-to-glass experiences.
Spanning around 800 acres of rolling hills, sustainable pastures, 120-year-old olive groves, and carefully tended vineyards, Pindarie offers a genuine taste of Barossa life. The name “Pindarie” comes from an Aboriginal word meaning “hilly place,” perfectly capturing its elevated position with panoramic 360-degree vistas over the valley, ranges, and farmland.
Since Tony Brooks took over from his grandfather in 1990 (with his wife and viticulturist Wendy Allan by his side), the couple has transformed the property through passionate sustainable farming. They’ve planted over 15,000 trees, restored historic bluestone buildings, and focused on estate-grown wines that beautifully express the unique terroir of the Western Ridge. Today, Pindarie is sustainability certified and proudly family-operated, with Tony and Wendy still living on the historic homestead.
Highlights include:
- Award-winning cellar door housed in beautifully restored 19th-century stables and grain room — a warm, welcoming space with sweeping views.
- Signature Walk, Taste & Graze Experience: A memorable guided farm walk to Schoff’s Hill, personalised wine tasting (including alternative varieties and Barossa classics), and a relaxed seasonal grazing lunch with local produce, gourmet pies, or platters.
- A diverse range of wines: standout Shiraz, Tempranillo, Sangiovese blends, Fiano, Sparkling Rosé, and more — many estate-grown and regularly awarded.
- Relaxed lunches, platters, and coffee, all while soaking in the farm’s working atmosphere with sheep, olives, and vines.
Whether you’re after an intimate tasting, a full immersive day out, or simply a peaceful glass with one of the best views in the Barossa, Pindarie delivers warm hospitality and a true connection to the land.
